Day 11

A self portrait today, playing with the light and reflections.

Strobist info: bare Sigma 530 DG Super @ 1/32 power 45 degrees camera right, fill from a white wall to the left.  Remote trigger and Cactus V4 for the flash.

  1. What's a Cactus V4? This is cool - love the lighting, love the composition.

Was there any chance of losing the rope knot top middle? I assume that's how the mirror is normally hung up.

  2. I'd probably have to cut the rope to take it out. Perhaps I should have made it more of a feature, rather than just having it peek out? I notice that the end of the rope can be seen around my cheek as well.

  3. Oh, and the Cactus V4 is a wireless flash trigger. It's about an order of magnitude cheaper than a pocket wizard version. You shouldn't need it if you use your Nikon SB-600 or SB-800 as a slave to the on board flash, unless you want to hide the flash round a corner. It does let me use a much cheaper manual flash when I don't want the E-TTL cleverness.
